Sunday 15 July - morning report

First launch at 0935 following early start by several members on a "non-wet" day. Following the previous day's cable breaks with Geoff Dixon, Paul Gentil then gave Max Lazenby a check flight, then after 7 years of patience and on his 16th birthday, Max was finally sent off for his first solo about 10am. A great launch and landing, followed by another made the day special. About an hour later we all had tea and birthday cake as we celebrated with Max.

Private owners also brought their toys out early, I suspect as much to celebrate it finally being a dry day even though it wasn't very (if at all) soarable at the start. I think tasks were set in anticipation, but some early unexpected overcast also influenced things. Not sure what the fleet of toys managed after about 3pm when I left, but it was starting to appear much better, and was great to see so many members out and about on a weekend day, after so long being wet.
