Saturday 14th July
The blog has been light on airfield news of late, so here is an update of what went on Saturday. Day began with persistent rain and low cloud, but a small band of members were hanging around long enough to see the rain stop at about mid-day. Just took out one K13 to start with so that Max could do some cable breaks, then the second K13 joined in as the cloudbase was above 1300 and conditions were quite nice for a while. 2 single-seaters came out to play, Mike's ASW20 and a visiting Open Cirrus. Not much soaring to be had though. The day finished as it started with rain coming in at about 4:30. Everything put away and the white lorry was cleaned out of sandwich packets and cans, and the side doors were given a wash. It really is white, and not grey!
