Sunday 19th February

Not a bad day for February. There was even a mini grid of private gliders appearing from hibernation. The lift was broken and the cores very narrow, but when you could get centered there was 4 kts to 4,000'. Not that you wanted to hang around at that height - it was absolutely perishing (note to self: must get the Mosquito's heater fixed). In an effort to keep warm, Doug Gardner and Dave Gardiner in the DG (three DGs in one aircraft - is that record?) spent most of their flight about 5' above the Cotswold ridge.
We are all indebted Paul Lazenby who came at the crack of dawn and replaced all the knots in the cables, thus ensuring we all got to the top of our launchs.
