8/9 October - UWE Student Induction

It was all hands on deck for Saturday as the first wave of new student members hit a launch point already busy with 2 one-day courses and club members. On a day suitable for little more than circuits instructors instructed with zeal, while all others winched, fetched gliders and helped out with remarkable good humour. By 1600hrs when rain stopped play all the students had flown (and hopefully all those who helped out had got into the air).

Sunday was slightly different. The second wave of student members were shown how we get gliders out, put them on a very breezy runway, stand around for a while, and then put the gliders back in the hanger before something gets broken. We then showed the students how to fly the simulator and many virtual K13s were destroyed.
