Hotter than July - Sunday 2nd October

Never in the history of gliding has so much sunshine resulted in so few thermals. But never mind, with light winds and clear blue skies it was a really pleasant day and great for training. Sarah Brown re-soloed after her layoff and Anna Lomax showed that flying a glider is a piece of cake when you are ten years old (expect her to be captaining a 747 in about 20 years time). Felix was flying anything with wings in a effort to get to the 4hrs solo he needs to fly the LS3 - when I left he had 7 minutes to go. Towards the end of the afternoon, it finally got hot enough for the thermals to break through the inversion and Tom Gardner and Martin Yates and some good flights. Many thanks to Tony Chapman for his tireless efforts on the winch.
