Thursday, 14th July, NMC Aviation
Last Thursday we hosted a bunch of US aviation students (commercial pilots in training) from Michigan. As fortune would have it, the weather was sensational. Simon Buckley and Richard Kill were the instructors and I helped out on the ground, with a particular emphasis on chatting and the dispensation of gliding trivia.
Here is what Steve, the leader of the group had to say afterwards:
Hi Eugene,
Just wanted to say a quick thanku for organising the glider flying on thurs. It was a fantastic day and all the students and myself thoroughly enjoyed the day - to be able to fly whilst over in the UK has definitely made the trip and all the students were talking about it again last night - they really did enjoy the experience and it is certainly a different experience from flying powered aircraft.
Can you pass this email onto the instructors simon and richard too.....their instruction was perfect and everyone really enjoyed flying with them.
And, just to confirm we would definitely like to return on Tuesday....hopefully the weather will be good and we can get up flying again - be great if simon and richard were available too.
We are off to the airshow in about 5 minutes....have a great weekend and look forward to meeting up again on tuesday.
Steve
ps....also thanku so much for organising the pub after - again....all the students really enjoyed that as its something they definitely dont get back in the US!!! Perhaps we could all do the pub again after tuesday ( it maybe a little later as we have the presentation planned for around 5.30 pm on tuesday....
So, the club made some useful money, the students had a great time and it was a very pleasant day at the airfield indeed. I would also like to thank the holiday course members for all their help as well as the other CGC and UWE members who were there and helped out.
Eugene
