Sunday 13 March
The sunshine wasn't quite up to African standards, but it was pretty good for the middle of March in the UK. The forecast was more accurate than Wednesday's and tempted a veritable fleet of private owners to dust off their aircraft. Mike Weston and Eugene Lambert went round the the club 100 in fine style, apparently without starting their turbos. Doug, Chris Gough and the ASH went up to Worcester., climbing to over 4,200'. Meanwhile Richard and I tried to remember how to fly the DG while Darren completed his two hours in the Astir. Sam Lazenby also had a long flight in the K8. Mike Randle, Paul Gentil and our glorious leader were kept busy flying a keen bunch of UWE students, with operations continuing almost up to sunset. A good day - fingers crossed it's the first of many.
