IT GETS BETTER
Sunday early on looked the same as Saturday but there was a 50/50 chance so the bus was parked at the North end of 21/03 to fool the web cam adherents. Fortunately by 11ish the cloud base looked reasonable so the kit was set up on the cross runway - hence escaping action by the Advertising Standards Authority who now monitor web sites !!
Operating from the West end in a cold Easterly is not a preferred option. However the UWE turned up in force and under the leadership of Alex Mazzoleni mucked in with the Blue Charlie team to start launching by 12.15. Despite the inevitable delays caused by landing on the runway, 28 launches were achieved by close of play at 17.20. One member even managed to complete the winter refresher including spins, spiral dives and a diabolically contrived cable break. The high spot of the day was Secretary Richard Kill producing some great home made hot soup in copious quantities to counter the wind chill. You who stayed at home missed a treat. The sun put in a brief appearance late afternoon to end a chilly but satisfying day ...
