For the gliders, this was a day of 3 parts. Early on the sky looked good and most cross country pilots were able to get away on task. Thermals were only going to 3000 or 3500 at best so it was not an easy run on the 300k task. (AST-HusBos-Kingsclere-AST) Then mucho spreadout! The last gliders in the launch queue kept coming back for relights. Then, part 3, at about 15:30 hours, the sky opened up again and great thermals to 4000-4500 above site. Thermals lasted 'till well after 6.00 pm.
